 History of Bagan Ananda Pagoda


 Ananda Pagoda was built in AD (1090) during the reign of King Kyan Sittha (1084–1113) during the Bagan period.  During the reign of King Kyan Sittha, monks from Nandamu Cave in the Himalayas came to Bagan.  According to the arahants, he liked Nandamu Cave and had the Ananda Pagoda built like Nandamu Cave.

 Ananda Pagoda is a pagoda built in the form of a cave temple.  It is 168 feet long.  It is 289 feet wide on each side.  Ananda Pagoda  ဓာတ် တော်၊  Lands and gold;  Money  It is enshrined with gems and stones.

 East of the Ananda Pagoda compound;  West  Mountain,  There are four pillars on each of the four north sides.  The four pagodas are dedicated to the four pagodas that have been opened on the four sides of the central pillar.  Each pagoda is 18 feet high.  To the north by Kakuthan Pagoda;  To the east by Kangone;  In the south by Kassapa;  To the west are four statues of the Buddha called Gautama Buddha.

 Of these, only the southern and northern statues are of the Bagan period.  The statues are perforated so that they can be seen clearly.  The statues are placed in the inner circle.  It is surrounded by an outer ring road.  There are statues of the Buddha on both floors of the ring.


 The art of illuminating the interior of the pagoda when the doors are closed at Mok Oo is a masterpiece.  Bridge crossings are used to cross the inner ring road from one place to another.  It is a masterpiece of Burmese architecture that the bridge decks are joined together with bricks without a single piece of iron and without iron.

 Around the inner wall of Ananda Pagoda, there are Buddha statues.  It is decorated with frescoes.  Now, as time goes on, natural disasters are rampant.  Murals and ink can only be seen in some places due to human invaluable destruction.  Stone carvings of King Arahan and King Kyan Sittha can still be seen today.

 Deities and deities made of relics around the lower and upper perimeters of the outer venue of the Ananda Pagoda.  How all the Brahmans came to look forward to the Blessed One;  It is decorated with 550 statues depicting the warriors of the devil coming to fight the Buddha.  There are a total of 1472 statues.  There are 20 statues in the upper Kwan Taung caves.  နတ် ရုပ် (28)၊  There are 24 pagodas.

 The lower and upper levels of the pagoda can be seen to be in perfect harmony with each other.  Among the pagodas in Bagan, Ananda Pagoda is the most magnificent.  He is known as the most delicate deity.

 The Ananda Pagoda Festival is celebrated every year for two weeks from the full moon day to the new moon day.  Pilgrims from all over the country come to the festival, and vendors sell local produce.
